He joined SNGPL in year 2004 and has held various key management positions last being Deputy Managing Director (Services). Prior to joining SNGPL has worked for large national and multinational organizations in Pakistan and abroad including key multi lateral funding agencies featuring over 28 years of rich experience in a large variety of disciplines.   Mr. Afan Aziz Director Mr. Afan Aziz holds a B’SC with First Class Honours in Accounting and Finance from the London School of Economics and Political Science. SNGPL stakeholders elect 11 board of directors By News Desk -July 6, 20200480 The Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited’s shareholders have elected 11 directors of the company for next triennial starting from July 6, 2020. Of the elected directors, five are independent (including one female director). The elected directors include Ahmad Aqeel, Ms Roohi Raees Khan, Manzoor Ahmed, Rizwanullah Khan, Dr Sohail Razi Khan, Mohammad Haroon, Muhammad Ayub Chaudhry, Sajid Mehmood Qazi, Naveed Kamran Baloch, Yousaf Naseem Khokhar and Afan Aziz. “The earlier held extraordinary general meeting of the SNGPL shareholders on June 23, 2020, was adjourned due to a stay order, dated June 22, 2020, of Lahore High Court, restraining the company from holding election of directors,” said a statement issued by SNGPL. “Now, the said stay order has been vacated and LHC has dismissed the said petition vide order dated July 03, 2020.” The adjourned EGM was reconvened Monday at the company’s head office. Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited Managing Director Amjad Latif, however, rejected demands of the protesters, saying that the management didn’t terminate their services. “We didn’t remove them from job. They are exerting pressure on us for regularisation of their services that can’t be done under the law,” Mr Latif told Dawn. The protesters tried to enter the SNGPL headquarters by forcibly opening three main gates. Police, however, pushed them behind. As a result of the protest, many visitors were denied entry to the offices.   LAHORE –Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited Board of Directors have rejected the demand of contract meter readers to make them permanent employees and asked them to work according to the terms and conditions of their service. According to an official statement issued after the meeting on Monday the SNGPL BoDs appreciated the steps taken by the SNGPL administration for the welfare of the employees. Meter readers and daily wagers from different cities seeking regularisation of their services, had been protesting against the SNGPL management and federal government. Some days ago they had also besieged the Company’s head office when ‘during the protest’ one of their colleagues from Mianchannu lost his life due to cardiac arrest.
